Ie pop and pour so we can keep alex guessing in the dark too.

I can arrange a decanting service where the bottles are decanted about 12 hours ahead of us meeting up - but not by me. Let me know if you're interested.g-man wrote:Ie pop and pour so we can keep alex guessing in the dark too.

I would imagine the bottles i'm interested in don't need decanting.

Re: may 6th tasting in the UK?
They have a couple of decanters, but we tend to use water jugs to make decanting easy.g-man wrote:does the restaurant have decanters?

Up to you Tom, is there something in your cellar that you'd like to try? In which case I'd buy 1 less bottle to ship to mr. 8 people means that we need to relocate from the Meeting Room to one of the tunnels. I shall call The Crusting Pipe tomorrow and see if we can move.

There is a space labelled ‟Jeff”. Should I add another labelled ‟JHG”? (With Wolfgang it is already two pages.)

Re: may 6th tasting in the UK?
Ah ha,
yes, there should be 4 bottles in attendance from me.
so you can have an extra jhg circle for the 4th bottle.

Re: may 6th tasting in the UK?
no extra glass circle for the extra bottle?
btw, if we're doing blind, shouldn't the cirlces have perhaps an alphabetical name instead of our names?
Or are we doing a blind where we let other people guess what we brought?

New page, so link added for convenience: draft of the placemats.
Sure. But do explain.g-man wrote:no extra glass circle for the extra bottle?
Usual practice has been to wrap double-decanted bottles in tin foil prior to arrival. (Or somebody can bring foil for you to do before people see bottles.)g-man wrote:btw, if we're doing blind, shouldn't the cirlces have perhaps an alphabetical name instead of our names?

Re: may 6th tasting in the UK?
Yes, we have 9 bottles for 8 people and 8 circles for 8 glasses is the assumption.jdaw1 wrote:New page, so link added for convenience: draft of the placemats.

Re: may 6th tasting in the UK?
So usual practice would be for each of the eight people to have nine glasses. Hence nine circles.g-man wrote:Yes, we have 9 bottles for 8 people

- +Sticky labels for the bottles. Or would people prefer two, so that bottles are labelled on both sides?

I see nine when using the link in the thread. Can you clear your cache to force a re-download? Or copy-paste the link, enter, and do something like control-alt-shift-return?

Re: may 6th tasting in the UK?
With 7 of us, we have been moved to one of the tunnels tonight. We have the tunnel available from 5pm (and will be welcomed whenever we arrive).
There is a Tesco Metro a few minutes walk from The Crusting Pipe where I shall be buying my foil to wrap the bottles. I have not decanted yet and will do so once I reach TCP. That should give my wine up to 5 hours to breathe over the course of the evening. I have funnel and filter paper for late decanters.
Wolfgang - if you let us know what you would like to eat, we can order it for you so that it is ready at 7pm.
