Presumably those being brought by JHG, SYG and EY. Or are more glass spaces needed?

I can arrange a decanting service where the bottles are decanted about 12 hours ahead of us meeting up - but not by me. Let me know if you're interested.

does the restaurant have decanters?

I would imagine the bottles i'm interested in don't need decanting.

They have a couple of decanters, but we tend to use water jugs to make decanting easy.

Up to you Tom, is there something in your cellar that you'd like to try? In which case I'd buy 1 less bottle to ship to mr. Al B.

I’d better add a double-magnum of Sandeman 1897 to the placemats.

8 people means that we need to relocate from the Meeting Room to one of the tunnels. I shall call The Crusting Pipe tomorrow and see if we can move.

There is a space labelled ‟Jeff”. Should I add another labelled ‟JHG”? (With Wolfgang it is already two pages.)

i thought it was to alleviate confusion from JGH =)

but I'm happy to be JHG as those are my given initials.

no extra glass circle for the extra bottle?

btw, if we're doing blind, shouldn't the cirlces have perhaps an alphabetical name instead of our names?

Or are we doing a blind where we let other people guess what we brought?

Sure. But do explain.

Usual practice has been to wrap double-decanted bottles in tin foil prior to arrival. (Or somebody can bring foil for you to do before people see bottles.)

Yes, we have 9 bottles for 8 people and 8 circles for 8 glasses is the assumption.

So usual practice would be for each of the eight people to have nine glasses. Hence nine circles.

Updated draft of the placemats.
  • +Sticky labels for the bottles. Or would people prefer two, so that bottles are labelled on both sides?

With 7 of us, we have been moved to one of the tunnels tonight. We have the tunnel available from 5pm (and will be welcomed whenever we arrive).

There is a Tesco Metro a few minutes walk from The Crusting Pipe where I shall be buying my foil to wrap the bottles. I have not decanted yet and will do so once I reach TCP. That should give my wine up to 5 hours to breathe over the course of the evening. I have funnel and filter paper for late decanters.

Wolfgang - if you let us know what you would like to eat, we can order it for you so that it is ready at 7pm.
