Virtual Tasting?

Post by g-man »

Any fellow TPFers interested in doing a virtual tasting?

Pick a style theme, discussion wine, life, pleasures, meet new/talk to old folks across the Atlantic?

AHB and Djewels did one many years ago and it was quite fun.

mm I was thinking something like a leakers or a broad theme like Rubys / Tawnies that allow for consistency so that we can have a discussion without the potential faults found in vintage ports.

It was fun and I’d be up for one, but a weekend in January would be better for me than December — unless you particularly wanted to do something over the holidays. But the holidays are always so busy for me with so many family visits and me driving everywhere.

I believe the only thing really holding us back was the timing as you guys are currently 5 hours ahead of us in NY, and I'm currently working on Japan times which would a virtual drinking 10 pm BST? 5pm EST?

I'm going to throw out some dates.

Ranging from dec 26th onwards.

We could find an open virtual chat channel so that folks can come in and out all day.

Count me in, happy to host NY side. Have some recent acquisitions which I haven't tired yet, need some tasters to help me out!

December 26 would work for me. We're hosting 12 members of the family during the day so by the time we get to the evening, I'll need a drink!

Only disadvantage for me of that date is I am working on 27th December so can't go too far into the night (UK time).
