Do you wish to include big horizontal tastings, such as of 1963, 1966, 1970 (a), 1970 (b), 1980, and 1983? And perhaps others (helpful list at www.jdawiseman.com/papers/placemat/placemats_list.html).

Love the initiative

I don't know if a thread exists on the high failure rate of bottles from 1977 (or worse yet, 75), but if we have a 85 VA thread, it seems like corresponding "vintage analysis" threads are merited.

If we're doing that, we may wish to consider an informal TPF "price guide" which would broadly reflect the prices that we, in theory, would like to pay for a given bottle (updated, say, 1/2 yearly or as merited?). Naturally it can vary due to differences in provenance/appearance/merchant/storage/etc, but these can be adjusted for. I think there would be some interesting applications of such a guide. I dunno. It seems at least that we have invested time in more trivial things.

Anyway, there's a lot of really great material here, and it is cool to this all linked up.

Thank you -- I had hoped to link to tastings, too, and have added the ones you identified (and others found on the placemats list). I'll try to go through the reviews forum in the next couple days to spot any that were omitted. I have an excel spreadsheet set up to automate the BBCode and avoid duplication. What else is appropriate to include on this list? We so far have: Declarations (and discussion/speculation), Harvest and Weather reports (and discussion), Release pricing, Tastings, and vintage-wide observations.

Thanks! I agree that we should include other vintage analysis threads in this, and assistance identifying those would be very welcome.

This thread probably isn't the best one for a full pricing list, but some kind of guide as to what we -- who hunt for bargains -- are paying would likely be a valuable resource.

Just a quick note -- our tasting reviews seem to lack clarity in their titles, making horizontals particularly hard to spot. I've pulled out the obvious ones from the first 3 pages of the index, but it may be that the only effective way to do this is to open each and every thread in there to determine if it is a horizontal or not.
