Old Port advertising...
Lartigue took this photo of Bibi, in London, in 1926.
Now, that's all very interesting, but isn't the omnibus nice..?

I used to have horses. The woman second from the left is best described as "having a leg in each corner".
Nice bus.

But if you do, don't do too much of the going on, as I'd like us to have a thread about Port and photography / advertising that stays in Port Conversations, and doesn't immediately go to Meaningless Drivel....

Met Carol in 1982. She had a horse. I bought a horse in 1983. That horse had a foal in 1988(?). Met Fiona in 1989. Married. Horses, horses, horses. Bought motorbike number 4 in 2001 (no more horses). Enough?

Is it generic brand advertising, or is it advertising a particular drink. Perhaps you have access to higher resolution?

Correction: armpits are for horses and cows, sheep are rarely past the elbow.DRT wrote:And I didn't even mention the multiple springs when I was up to my armpits in sheepdjewesbury wrote:I only saw this now. Re: Old Port advertising...
I am suprised that this promising thread has fallen into disuity. Where are all the other pictures of omnibuses with advertising depicting port?
I have none.

Stop! that really hurts. Please tell me that you actually have that bus. It's smallness lends it a piquancy that I cannot express.

#meaninglessdrivel?
And as for all that stuff about horses. I think that lady in the picture was probably just changing direction. You never saw her over the fences.
