RP26, from MSC+AHB+HTWH. red-brown, 30% opaque. Nose had dark cigar smoke. palate lovely: light smoke, molasses as if from a Campbeltown whisky, soft, light, some bitterness giving grip, resin flavours, and late-palate sugar. MPM rightly said “burnt sugar”. Great shape; serious old Port: this was proper splendid, and from an unheralded year.

The Book mentions 1926s from only Ramos Pinto, Kopke, Noval, and Taylor Vargellas.

Lovely deep colour- browning but still full - like Vintage Oxford Marmalade. Pine very clear on the nose. Richard and sweet palate with some very attractive poached yellow plum. Long, long, long finish with some attractive fig, late. Really lovely wine. I am extremely grateful to those who provided this, my highlight of the evening.
