2015 Pocas White Colheita (bottled 2025)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

I was given a bottle of this at the bft with a request that I taste it and give my opinion. I’m so delighted to have had the chance to taste it - it’s damn delicious! A great wine for summer 2026.

Poças 2015 White Colheita, bottled in 75cl in 2025. A beautiful dark golden colour, verging on orange; 30% opaque. Sweet mandarin icing sugar on the nose; very soft and very gentle. The wine has a delightful balance on the palate. It’s not a big wine, but it’s slightly thickened in texture, fulsome and packed with bitter orange citrus peel on the mid- and late palate. The aftertaste is an explosion of citrus peel, I found mandarin, grapefruit, lime and a few more. The explosion settles very quickly, to deliver a delicious bitter-sweet Seville orange finish. Really rather impressive. This is a fabulous bottle for the summer. 94/100.

I have heard great things about this White Colheita! It seems like it might be a suitable replacement for my old favorite, the DR 2008 White Colheita.

Has it been released yet? I don't see it for sale on their website nor anywhere else. Regardless, Pocas is somewhat hard to come by in the US.

I've found some at an online shop in Portugal that I've used n the past and ordered same. Very much looking forward to trying this if and when it ever warms up here. Thank you, Alex, for the review.

I bought some of the Quevedo 2012 White Colheita as my summer drink for 2026, but I might well be adding to it once I get my act together. This is a really nice wine.

I've asked whether it has been released in the US yet. I've also asked for contact details for Poças's US importer so you can get in touch to find a local retailer.

I'm told that the 2015 White Colheita is not available in the US. However, the Poças online shop will have it available and the shop can ship to the US at a cost starting at about €15 per bottle.
