Internet videos of the historic Douro and generally about Port

Occasionally as I am rummaging around on the internet for something I come across a video of an historic aspect of the Port industry. I decided that when this happened I would add it to this thread with a short description of what was on the video to allow others to use it as a reference in the future.

1. A 40 minute interview by Paulo Russell-Pinto of the IVDP with Carla Tiago of Kopke and Mario Cardoso of Quinta da Sequeira talking about the demarcated region, winemaking in the Douro and the history of their two companies. Made in 2020. Shown on FaceBook.
2. Song of the Grape: A 20 narrated minute film from 1954 of Quinta da Roeda, including a nice view of the bridge over the river at Pinhao from a time before the river was dammed.
3. Wine Boats of the Douro River is a 2m45s 1923 silent clip from British Pathé showing ox carts carrying pipes of Port, being loaded on the Barcos Rabellos at Regua and then sailed / rowed downriver.
4. Harvest of the Sun is a 1m31s Pathé News film about the 1935 harvest in the Douro.
5. Wine Harvest. Although 1953 was a forgettable vintage in the Douro Valley, Pathé News did manage to make a 2m58s film of the grapes being harvested and taken to the winery.
6. A 3 minute clip in French about the Douro and featuring Jorge and Ana Rosas and the Ramos Pinto cellar. 2020.
7. Wine Bottling (1956) — a 2m46s film about bottling wine by hand in London in 1956, with a focus on bottling Port.
8. From Rob’s post below: 1960s Douro Valley Wine Transportation - a short 1m33s colour film on the evolving methods for transportation of pipes down to Porto.
9. Also from Rob: Port Wine old methods of transport - a 5m silent black and white film (date unknown) with some particularly dramatic footage of boats transporting pipes through rough Douro rapids from c. 3 minutes in.
