winesecretary wrote: 22:54 Wed 24 Dec 2025 There may be some desire to move this tasting - either to the day before or the day after. I invite thoughts (especially from Glenn - we’re holding it on a day he’s available, and if that’s just the 10th that’s just the 10th).
We leave Seattle on Friday night, Feb 6, arrive in London on Saturday afternoon, and will be semi-recovered from jet lag by the end of Sunday, Feb 8. We then leave for Edinburgh on Wednesday, Feb 11.

Ergo, Monday and Tuesday, Feb 9 and 10, are really the only days available for me.

Apologies for the slow response, I was visiting family for a week over the holidays.

Apologies. Crushed with work. If someone can take over and make a decision about date and liaise with the B&F please do.

I'll happily take on the organisation of this fine event, but only if we can squeeze an extra seat around the table for me to occupy.

Unfortunately I’m going to have to pull out of this, was really looking forward to it. Any chance with all the changes it could be put back a few months?😂

I’ve had a chat with George and have agreed to take on the mantle of organiser.

I understand that some confirmed attendees are no longer able to make the planned date of the 10th, hence the gentle enquiry as to availability on alternative dates.

Glenn can’t make the 11th, hence only 9 and 10 are available.

I will enquire tonight whether the Boot & Flogger is available on the 9th — although we should all be very aware of the early closing time on Mondays.

If Monday is still a viable option, I’ll ask for availabilities on both days.

Apologies for the slow response on this one - I cannot make the 9th and the 10th is now looking a little shaky. I didn't acquire any Fonseca pre-2000 that I can contribute so I would suggest that I might be dropped to the reserves in favour of someone who can definitely make it and contribute.

Thanks Rich. I'll see who from the reserves list can replace you.

The conclusion on the date is this:
- 2 people can't make it on Monday 9th
- 2 people can't make it on Tuesday 10th
- 2 people have expressed a slight preference for Tuesday 10th since the B&F is open for an extra hour

Apologies to Neil and Mike, but we'll stick with the originally planned date.

I will post lists of who is to bring which bottles shortly.

I've looked back at my original post, and need to update my list of currently available bottles:
Available: 60, 66, 77, 85, 92, 03 all in excellent condition.
(the only F70 I have to hand is a small stash from which previous bottles have been less than stellar, so not ideal here).
