Purchased as part of a parcel of four identical but unknown bottles at the Straker Chadwick sale of April 2007. Identified from the branded cork, confirmed when one of the four bottles was opened at the 2007 Port Forum Christmas event.

Lovely rich red fruit with good balance and a mid length finish, just didn’t have the staying power in the finish for that next step. Lovely drinking. Excellent.
1920 Taylor, Audouzed for 2 hours and then decanted for a further 2 hours. The first of the wines in this tasting which showed as a dark colour. A little closed on the nose but showing some gentle concentrated red fruit. A lovely balance on entry with a rich and sweet red fruit, a slight dusting of tannins. Impressive concentration of sweet and sugary red fruit. Attractive dark and fruity palate but lacking some balance and complexity you would hope for from a wine of this age. Lovely, but not as special as I would have hoped. 88/100.
