1970 Horizontal - Food pre-orders

Post by flash_uk »

Hello everyone

It's time for food orders please. Need to submit these on Thursday, so I will be unashamedly stalking people to notify me of their order!

If you are attending BOTH Thursday evening and Friday all day - you have three orders to submit (dinner, lunch, dinner).
If you are attending Friday only, you have two orders to submit (lunch, dinner).

I will send an email to everyone, as well as WhatsApp or SMS for those whose numbers I have. You can reply through any channel - but please reply ASAP!

A reminder, cost is £100 for each sitting, which covers food, corkage and tip. I expect the final costs will end up very slightly lower than this, so I may return ~£10 on the day.

Finally, anyone failing to respond before Thursday 5pm London time with an order, will get Salmon, Chicken Supreme and Cheese as a default. In my mind it would be tragic to eat that up to three times on the trot...please get your order in!

Anyone interested in splitting a special steak (I don’t mind what kind) cooked medium rare, please let me know.

Thursday:
Smoked salmon starter
Ideally a shared special steak with fries and garlic roasted carrots. (If no-one is interested in sharing then I’ll have a Tomahawk to myself.)

Friday lunch:
Scotch egg
Fries and garlic roasted carrots
Cheese

Friday dinner:
No starter
Shared steak with fries (or a club sirloin in the bone if no-one wants to share)
Lemon tart with coconut ice-cream (ie. Not with clotted cream)
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

You'll have to arm-wrestle Phil, who's already jumped in with an offer to share with Alex on Thursday!

Or do you want to share with Alex on Friday?

The use of spreadsheets for food orders is a thing of beauty.

I love the spreadsheet food order. It makes it quick and simple to review.

I have spotted some corrections please:
Thursday lunch - please could I have my steak medium-rare
Friday lunch - no cheese required

Thanks Alex. Must have made the image before I spotted the missing medium rare, as I did include MR for the Thursday steak in the version that I sent to B&F.
Friday no cheese - noted.
