Or I'm assuming 90% of the 1977 VPs will be corked.
this is why I thought there was so many bottles at the tasting.

Taylor decanted last night at 1800. Had just over 4 hours in decanter before going back into the bottle and VacUVined.
QA sample good. Not corked.

My ETA likely to be in the region of 1830, perhaps 1815 if all goes well.

Picture of and decanting details for Morgan posted on the Morgan thread.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

GC Mag - Very dark fruit bomb - not corked
Niepoort - quiet light coloured but looking good - not corked
Ducal - a little cloudy but has fruit - not corked
Morano - maderised tawny by the looks of it - not corked but shot
Villa Eden Cab Sav Mag (Napa) not corked, in great condition and will be a treat. Unlikely most will have had a better 1977 red I'll warrant. The winemaker was Nils Venge who is a Napa legend.

I shall arrive between 5 and 5.30.

RP double decanted at 10.45am today. Only tasted from a drip on the funnel but am very hopeful. ETA 5.50pm.

Looking forward to see what you think of this. I had it a couple of times (from magnum) and then lucked into an auction lot of 7 (IIRC... might have been 6) mags that I was able to acquire for $120 each. In the US, at least, that's a steal of a price. After I drank one of the auction lot bottles I went out and happily replaced it for $240.

It's a wonderful, beautiful wine from magnum.

Really enjoyed last night!

The fact that Taylor stormed to victory sets up the "Spot The Taylor" meet nicely.

Very enjoyable evening, thanks to those involved in organising and navigating the apparently complex set of options in various cellars!
