10 cases in n total (1 NN and the other 9 N). If this guy (girl) is dead shame on them for not drinking up. Of course they may have bought 100’s of them

Christie's sold 660 bottles (not a typo - six hundred sixty) of 1964 Justino's Boal V.J.H. earlier this year. 6 lots - 4 x 120, 108, and 72. Even if you drank one bottle every week that's over 12.5 years worth of Boal!

@ flash - auction market is undergoing a substantial correction. Fill your boots if you haven't already. Yet again I find myself broke during a correction, goddamnit.

Interesting that you’ve noted this. Was chatting with a friend earlier in the week, musing about liquidity issues potentially driving a need for some to divest fine wine holdings. We may see some bargains in the next 12-24 months.winesecretary wrote: ↑19:08 Mon 09 Oct 2023 @ flash - auction market is undergoing a substantial correction. Fill your boots if you haven't already. A couple of years ago it was not unusual for C&B to have no DRC on their broking list. Now loads. Similar with other blue-chip investment wines.

There seems to be a marked increase in the number of large single collector Cellars being brokered by some of the wine merchants as well.
There are certainly some nice opportunities in the Port market at the moment in the 60’s and 70’s. Not so much in the 40’s and earlier

Roriz 1921?
Just looking at The Saleroom and a bottle of Roriz 1921 is listed by Hartleys Auction House. I have never seen a 1921 and cannot find anything to support this being a genuine bottle. Do people think this is genuine?

These conversations are usually done non-publicly.
• Those saying “fake” don’t want letters from lawyers.
• Those saying “genuine” don’t want to drive up the price.
Hence such conversations are usually done non-publicly.

Ah ok that makes sense. Apologies. I will check the closing price post auction as I guess that might give me a fair indication.

Is anyone picking up from Brightwells before the TPF Christmas tasting?
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
