Nose and palate both good. Liked. 5/7 and 1/2 a point.

Not sure about this on the nose.

Better on the palate. But not really nice. I would drink it out of duty or obligation rather than pleasure.

Not wrong but I have had better bottles.

BBR83. Bright red, 40% opaque. Very dusty, in a weird dry way. Not bad, but not good.

Neil was wrong.

E: A pretty red colour, tending to light brown at the rim.
N: A strange yet muted note on the nose.
P: Straightforwardly acceptable vintage Port.
I heard that this BBR was produced by W.

40% opacity, mature red. REd fruit, tea and tobacco on the nose. A bit flabby, lacking backbone, tea.

A bottle acquired by Justin Kneeshaw from Mealy's sale on 23-Jun-2013 as lot 63738 (which consisted of 3 bottles of this Port). Opened at 19.00 the night before the tasting, decanted at 07.00 and tasted at 20.00.

Warre. Warm red rose colour, lightly pigmented but still managing to be 60% opaque. Subdued on the nose showing a little rhubarb and perhaps even a hint of coffee. The rhubarb has an attractive sweetness to it on the palate, which slowly evolves into red fruit pastilles and a gossamer thread of tannins. The wine is young, but evolving beautifully and still dominated by the fruit. It has a good balance with just enough tannin remaining to give the fruit a bit of a chew on the liquorice finish. Lovely wine. 91/100. Decanted 13 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
