NV Wine Society Crusted 2013
Slight baked note to the fruit, highlighting the dark berries and violets. Sweet and perfumed fruit with a lovely ripeness. Generous acidity supports the ripeness with plenty of unobtrusive tannins. Lovely black cherry chewiness to the finish. Great length. Crusted Port is a wonderful style. Tasted blind. 93/100. Tasted 28-Apr-22.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.
2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Re: NV Wine Society Crusted 2013
I was interested in what this was so looked it up. For the benefit of future posterity, after the Wine Society takes down its entry: it is made by the Symingtons from a blend of the 2009, 2010 and 2011 vintages.
Incidentally, I keep forgetting that when trying to assess the relative age of a Crusted Port you need to subtract a couple of years from the bottling date. Not a huge issue for old ones but may make more of a difference with younger ones.
