Dark brick red , 50% opaque. Limited on the nose, showing a little perfumed fruit. Nicely balanced palate with lovely fruit, a touch of raspberry and white-currant. Good acidity and fully resolved tannins. There is a little unexpected heat on the aftertaste, but this doesn't detract from the wonderful finish; a finish that goes through so many phases of flavour and nuance and lasts so long! Equal second best wine of the first flight. 94/100. Drunk 13-Jun-23.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
