It's near the university where I now work. It has plentiful bottles of G66, G77, G85, G94, D63, D66, etc etc etc. Yes, the bottles have Northern Irish prices on them; but the selection is all here. And there's a discount too. And what's that at the bottom.. Oh look, a single bottle of - but this will be perfect for a blind tasting when Nick Delaforce is in town next month, a Df85. How much is this please, madam?

Phone call to the management - it's not in the system. Only the Df87, which is £27... (Well let's not quibble about two years, that sounds fair..)

"Sorry, it's a bin end, not for sale, he's taking that one home.."

Ah well.

You have missed a very obvious opportunity. Think really hard.

I know.. Invite the manager. He lives 60 miles away from Belfast though. Don't worry. I might call them later...

I did explain what I wanted it for, and no dice..

UPDATE: Calling into their other branch (next to the train station and similarly replete with nice port) I encounter the man who was on the other end of the phone call. It turns out the Df85 is earmarked by his dad. I have extended the invitation.
