Hi,
I wounder if anyone could help us with information on how many houses has declared vintage in each of the following years:
- 2005
- 2006
- 2009
- 2010

If you trawl through the threads in the Port Conversations area of the forum you will find various threads like this one that will help.

Thank you DRT but I was hoping that someone might have a list showing number of declaring houses by each year. We do have such a list originating from the port wine institute but it is not complete.

with potentially 50-60 houses declaring on major years

and with some smaller houses declaring, it's just really hard to get such a list unfortunately.

I'll be honest and say I barely even know half of the houses declared in 2011.

the IVDP has the records and hard records of such which is why I'd say if you wanted a list like that, they'd still be the best bet

The IVDP are a Portuguese government agency. They are the regulatory body for Port and Douro wines. Therefore any winemaker must fear them, and cannot speak in public. Some won’t dare speak even in private. Those who do, are not flattering.

The Portuguese authorities should be desperate to help rather than hinder an export industry. The IVDP should start each day with the question ‟what can we do to help out exporters?”. But no winemakers would dare say so in public.

I agree IVDP is the right place to go, but I hoped that one of you had an updatet list from them. I will try once again to write to them. If I do get a reply I will post it here.
