Hurrah! Congratulations.
Please let us know how you do selling Quevedo's products through to consumers other than those in the Ghi household

to my (pleasant) surprise, the 1996 colheita is almost sold out, as it's our most expensive bottle in the portfolio but very well worth it.
The 2006 is too young unfortunately, requires a 2 day decant before it starts to open up, and it shows at tastings that I wished Oscar would keep one vintage back before releases as the 2004 are now hitting stride (But out of inventory). But for a longer term haul, it's certainly a good drinker.
I've found that more people enjoy tawny styled wines as oppose to rubies as i've gotten more positive feedback over his special reserve tawny and colheitas.
I'm waiting on a retailer who inquired about Oscar's douro white, but haven't heard back unfortunately =(
Everything looks good so far!

Oscar's Ports made their first foray into the USA in 2010. They were sold mostly in Pennsylvania state stores, and at a prominent retail shop in Chicago too ... near the USA importer. We helped to launch the very first Quevedo Port and DOC wines to reach the USA, in an early "buying opportunity" which enticed the importer to get other placements at that point.
Glad to hear that Jeff G. has now taken on the NY metro area importing. The more Quevedo that receives attention the better. I wish Jeff a ton of good luck in making Quevedo a household name there!

Great news indeed.
I think his wines make so much sense for restaurants. It is quality that fully holds its own with established brands, but where the restaurant will have extraordinary leverage in terms of pricing, etc.
Would buy Oscar 100pct of the time I see him on a wine list.

Quevedo's 40-yr old is really impressive. Very youthful and fruity (though in a properly 40-yr old way) compared to most other 40s. If Claudia did the blending for it, I'm really impressed. She does such a great job with their wines, VPs, and LBVs... I sort of figured that tawnies would be different enough to need a different blender!

G-man, could you point me to a retailer or two in Manhattan or Brooklyn that stocks your port. I'd like to check it out. Thanks.
