Who gave me the Burgundy and the Port?

Whilst living in Holborn, there appeared a bottle of Port, and one of Burgundy. My recollection, my very clear and certain recollection, was that they had been entrusted to my care by
Rob for use at a later tasting.
Rob has denied this.
So my backup recollection, my ‘in emergency break glass’ recollection, is that it was
Alex.
Alex has denied this.
If not claimed within ten days, the Port will come to the tasting of
Delaforce 1958 and friends.

I strongly suspect that these are the bottles Cynthia entrusted to our care when she attended a tasting at The Bunghole earlier this year.

The Port is not Symington, but, nonetheless, she has been PM’d.

Multiple PMs received.
• DRT made the same suggestion as in his post.
• Wolfgang was suggested. He received the same PM.
• Dirk Niepoort was suggested. I don’t recall having overlapped with Dirk Niepoort at a Bung Hole tasting.
• A policeman, doubtless gathering clues to assist in the apprehension of the villain, asked for more details of the bottles.
• Ben Read: ‟Not me, but a good reason to try and make the tasting!”

I thought the port was a BBR own selection from a year when BBR were supplied by Symingtons

Hi, yes, the BBR-supplied-by-SFE bottle and the bottle of Burgundy were left in Derek or someone's care when I was there at the bunghole, I think last October? Can't recall too precisely myself.
You folks have carte blanche to use the port for any tasting where it will fit into the theme of the evening. The burgundy... if ever you run out of liquid to wash down steak, may be of use. No promises what condition it may be in...
enjoy!!

By PM I now know what the Port is.
I now suspect that whatever Port Cynthia left for us was stollen by the elves that live inside walls in Holborn.
The mystery Port remains a mystery.

Whoops: no you don’t.
It is indeed BBR 1970, presumably supplied by Warre. Coming to a tasting soon.

Well that just took the blind out of blind tasting! Enjoy!! I can't remember what the Burgundy was though... did I give you the Anne Gros Chambolle Musigny Combe d'Orveaux? Couldn't find it when I was emptying the cellar here...

Tom said sighted, so sighted it is.
Thank you for providing the bottle. And apologies for, late one evening, being confused.

Didn't see this earlier - if this was intended as a blind bottle for a tasting, i am happy to wait and have it on another suitable occasion!

Glad to see from the notes it showed well at least to some palates! When I purchased that from BBR (long before I came to Portugal) I was told by the BBR salesman that it was fundamentally a Warre wine, but NOT the identical blend to what Warre did under their own brand that year.
