Lisbon Airport

Post by SCP »

I happen to be travelling through Lisbon airport next week (careless having omitted to schedule time in Lisbon itself). Does anyone know if there are decent shops at the airport to pick up a reasonable bottle or two? Looking for good QPR, ready to drink.

If Oporto airport is anything to go by, i don't think there's particular value to be had in picking up stuff there vs the UK, though there were some interesting bottles/halves of Kopke colheita that were nicely priced (84 was the one i saw, if i recall correctly). Vintage port, in particular, was not attractively priced - though you might find a reasonable deal on a "second" label eg: Cavadinha (Warre) / Vau (Sandeman).

I was actually more impressed by the Douro wine selection than the ports, and picked up a couple of nice bottles.

But Lisbon may be different - i'd imagine Oporto airport can get away with charging a bit more for last minute purchases by Douro tourists...

flying from both airports, I seem to have the same recollection as RayC the douro reds were much better and stuff you dont typically find outside of portugal

Good to know, thanks for the responses. I'll keep a look out for small odds and ends then.
