As my 40th birthday comes in sight, I was thinking about a 40yr Tawny.
Any recommendations?

My current favorite is the Quinta da Romaneira. Lots of brown sugar, very intense.

Close behind are the Kopke and Noval. The Kopke is very bright and acidic, while the Noval tends to be a bit creamier.

I also like the Sandeman. I don't feel it's quite up to the standard set by the above three, but it's still a 93-94 point Port to me.

I support the Romaneira, Noval and Kopke and would add Burmester and Kopke White 40 years as well.

And if you can find it, the Revolta 40yrs, which is my hands down favourite!

I was thinking if it doesn't have to be exactly 40

the quinta noval 1974 colheita is a fantastic wine.
