What do you carry your glasses in?

Post by SushiNorth »

All,
Pine Valley Packaging and I have been in discussions regarding a shipment of glasses storage boxes made of corrugated plastic. Each box would hold 24 glasses up to 7.5" tall. They would be priced at about $17-20 USD each (provided we get 30 or so), but exact numbers won't be available until they figure out how big a run to do (they combine several orders to achieve economy of scale). They are packed flat, require a little assembly, and must be ordered in units of 10 and at not less than $250/shipment.

If this is of interest, and at a reasonable price point, I propose that TPF and FTLOP bandy together to order a large shipment of these boxes for use in the transportation of glasses to and from Port tastings.

Interested? And how many might you want?

That is a similar price to WineBox where I got mine from but WineBox only require a minimum order of £50. Admittedly, no logo. I would suggest that the UK bunch get from WineBox and a pool of US go to Pine Valley.

Does that particular size (35) fit the INAO glasses? I thought it would be too small.

The WineBox product appears to be the PVP product (PVP is a manufacturer). I agree, though, that the price they quoted me is no great deal especially when one considers the #s we need to order in. Part of me almost wonders if it would make more sense for us to convince WineBox to ship to the US, or to buy them through a UK TPF member.

Before we get into all that shipping and ordering, how many would we need? I am in need of four 35-glass-boxes or six 24-glass-boxes.

It's these glasses which look to be exactly the same size and shape and they fit 35 in, no problems.

I keep about 50 IDVP's in their original cases, the rest I put in strudy wine boxes with a cardborad insert so I can do two levels. I don't often travel with more than 24 glasses. if that's the case, I use the wine box. Why get the other new IDVP's dirty?
