Ben, Christopher and I can all make this date in London. Anyone else?
Suggestions for a theme?

The 30th would work for me. I’m happy to leave suggesting a theme to someone else!

Tom is also joining us. So now we are five. Five is enough to have a theme.
Suggestions:
1. Bring a Dow VP
2. Bring a 1970
3. Bring something from your birth year
?

I own a Dow 1945, so perhaps don’t make the theme a deep vertical of Dow.

OK. Suggestion 1 amended to "Bring a Dow that is younger than 1950".

I can manage suggestions for themes 2 & 3 (which are one and the same for me!) but only have one bottle of Dow (1960) which I had earmarked for the 1960 pencilled in for 2010 - My 40th and Tom's 50th I believe.
I also recall Julian was very keen on the 1970 vertical and we had agreed to hold that at his convenince.
We could a 1970 'practice run' or a birth year theme. I could provide a Borges or Quinta do Noval 1970 for that theme.
Other ideas for consideration:
the 'never to be seen again' theme (Brands that have disappeared)
A London colheita-thon
Olympic years (in the month London became host city)
Available now VP / SQVP / LBV (unfiltered) / Colheita - with this theme we could award our first medals!
As ever, I will defer to my elders for a decision!

I will give it some thought and re-open the debate when I return from the Valley of the Purple Sun

Really, the only acceptable vintage for such a theme would be 1908.

Any views on what our theme will be yet?

Why not simply:
"Bring a bottle that you would like to share"
(but not discuss with anyone else what you are going to bring)

I can work with that. I shall bring a bottle that I hope you will all enjoy sharing.

Sounds like a good idea! Does anyone have any thoughts as to time (and venue, although I’m assuming TCP)?

London also hosted the Olympics in 1948.
