NV Porto dos Santos Ruby Reserve

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Porto dos Santos Reserve Ruby NV, open 2 hours. Sealed with a driven cork. Lavender and bramble on the sweet and dense nose. A little more refined on the palate with generous levels of young fruit wrapped in a fresh wrapper and soft tannins that only really show up on the aftertaste. A long finish of blackcurrant lozenge with a touch of menthol. Very decent Reserve Ruby which deserves to have been left in the cellar for at least 5 more years. 88/100.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: DR Very Old White, Graham Stone Terraces 2011, Quevedo Branco 1986 b.2026
