2010 Croft Colheita (bottled 2024)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

I learned in March that this is a world-wide exclusive to Majestic Wines in the UK.

Croft 2010 Colheita, bottled in 2024 in 75cl. Dark red, distinctly tawny in tone; 90% opaque. A lovely pronounced nose of maraschino cherry. Deft balance on the palate with a delicious cocktail cherry, a dash of bitters and some gentle tannins. A little acidic kick on the aftertaste, which gives way to a very fine dried plum and prune finish. Long length. A delicious, rich colheita that needs a little more time to smooth off some of its rough edges, but is good to drink today. 89/100.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: DR Very Old White, Graham Stone Terraces 2011, Quevedo Branco 1986 b.2026
