2024 Quinta do Noval

A walkaround tasting of cask samples at the Montrachet Wines EP tasting of 2025 Bordeaux on 29 April 2026.
Quinta do Noval 2024. A dark rose red colour which a centre that is just transparent. Floral plum and prune on the nose. Smooth texture on the palate, carrying the purity of the fruit and almost hiding tannins which are exquisitely fine-grained. The tannins give a graininess to the fruit that delivers real interest. An elegant wine, with elegance that in no way compromises on the fruit. A delicate dance on the finish, revealing a charcoal texture to a mouthful of black cherry stones. Very impressive. 94-96/100.
