Are we still on a cat theme? If so, do you like my new cat?

It's not the way I remember you.

Where do I find good Avatars on the net?

a child’s rendering of an explosion in a flag factory

No. Use Paint or like software to make your own avatar. Something that speaks distinctively of you or yours, rather than a child’s rendering of an explosion in a flag factory.

You got me with that comment - and you can now see the result. This was painted by my son, Ross, when he was 9 years old. It hangs framed in my house and will stay there as long as I do. I won't go into why, but this is my Avatar from now on, apart from periods where we have a collective theme like the cats or on International Peanut Butter Day.

I'm presuming it IS a tree? :D

If you see it as a tree then that's fine. Art is a very personal thing. I'd be intrigued to know which aspects of this work you think look like a tree?

Trunk and branches, I'd say. Are you telling us this is a four-armed hammer-head shark, then?

I still like it, but I thought that it was a tree as well.

No, can't you see? It's a 2 headed hammer head shark with very large feet and no arms

Derek

It is an excellent avatar. Well done.

It is an excellent avatar.
• It speaks of you and yours;
• It is stylish; and
• It is not so loud or moving as to distract a reader from the text.
Well done.

I would rather it were slightly narrower, but that would lose resolution so I’m not doing any of my usual grumbles.

jdaw1,

Thanks, your post inspired me to use this.

I have struggled to think of an online identity. Some find it easy. Alan, for instance, looks like a Bulldog smoking a Cabana. KillerB is, well, I'm sure you can guess :? ....and, then, you have your tasting mats. Each of us should have a different slant on our personality.

On the size of the image, the original is around 600cm wide - this is about as small as I would want to make it as it retains most of the detail of the original.

Aahhhh that's what it is. I have been wondering and failed to ask. Wouldn't mind but I've used two.

Derek,

Cohiba!!!

Cabana is the Copa where according to Barry Manilow, Lola was a showgirl!

Oops  - sorry, Alan

KillerB, kindly explain what your new avatar says about you and yours :?

One of those damned dogs chased my birman and had to be restrained by an elderly but very determined tabby, called Sebastian.

Gone off that one.

I mis-read this first time. That’s huge!

Good point, that's about twenty feet - he's painted the side of your house, hasn't he?

Posted: 22:30 Mon 25 Jun 2007

Oops, I meant 600mm or 60cm or 2 feet in real money

I'm now disappointed, I would have loved to have seen that 20ft wide with the appropriate shaking of heads from neighbours.

I can ask him to paint one on your house if you want?
