Still incredibly dark, 97% opaque.
Nose is dumb, some sulky South African plum showing but that’s it.
Palate is big thick leathery port, full of matiere, bulging with grape skin and tannin.
Congruent finish.
Not massively satisfying. A pitbull of a port. A tannic beast.
Have I misread the label? Was this in fact a vintage from that uncompromisingly hot summer?
