Ck50, Raby Castle. This is from a junior year.
In ‘The Wines of Portugal’ (1963), on page 105, under the heading “Modern Port Vintages”, H. Warner Allen wrote:1950 — a delicate wine of quality, growing up very quickly and valuable to fill the gap between 1947 and 1955.
But really good! Light, smooth, still youthful, and in different company could have been a very worthy WOTN. Cold steady storage is a good thing.

Miraculously dark. Deep and lovely and complex nose. Palate has fabulous fruit and fabulous length. This was repeatedly described to me in years past as 'ladies port' but this cold - stored bottle was a noble beast.
