G70: glorious red, 50% opaque; sweet red cherries, dry mid-palate, and good size. I thought it junior to multiple others in the flight, but could not understand why.

1970 Graham. Dark, mature brick red colour, 90% opaque. One of the more expressive noses on the wines in flight 1 with a fresh redcurrant. Sweet fruit on the palate with a touch of burnt rhubarb. Good complexity on the expressive aftertaste, which is dominated by the fruit. Long finish. A big but well balanced wine. Glorious. 94/100. Double decanted 3 hours.

Note taken on 12/10/25 from sample kindly bottled on night. Good honest looking mature port, slightly darker than the Graham. Nose a bit mute, or at least less concentrated than the Dow. Possibly a bit of rubber? Palate is positively lush but does have a sort of acrid note on the finish. Good port but I prefer the Dow tonight.

50% mature red. Rich, chewy cranberries, a little heat and spiciness mid palate, finish fades somewhat. Was hoping for better.
Different bottle to that tasted by Alex...
