The setting ‘Posts per page’ has been 25 since 2007. Bandwidth is now much cheaper; device memory more abundant: this number has been increased to 50.
If you strongly object, please give reasoning here.

Previous discussion of this is at
Turn page at 50, not 15:
jdaw1 wrote: ↑15:59 Thu 21 Jun 2007The phpBB default is that a thread turn the page at 15 posts. Please could that parameter be changed to 50. Fifteen so breaks the continuity of a conversation.

Would 100 be a better value?
Or do we need to get there in baby steps?

I'd stick with 50 for a while and see how it goes. Posts per page is mostly relevant for organisation threads which can reach 200+ posts at a time. And usually it is the organiser that is scrolling back and forward trying to find something or other. I suspect with 100pp it could become easy to get "lost".

I agree that 15 is shorter than ideal, so an increase makes sense. Am not sure that hugely long pages are especially ideal either, since navigation can become a pain; personally 35-40 seems about right intuitively while looking at some previous long discussions; so 50 seems like enough to me; however that might just be familiarity speaking.

It was 15 for only a few weeks 17½ years ago. Then it became 25.
