1960 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Warre 1960. Bottled by Berry Brothers & Rudd. Pink capsule. Mature brick red colour; 60% opaque. Spiced fruit and garrigue nose. Bright and fresh, full of redcurrant. Gentle and harmonious on the palate. Mature fruit, gently spiced dried red fruit. Everything combines to a wonderfully elegant mouthful of mature fruit. Beautifully poised palate. The aftertaste has a delightful hint of red liquorice to the lingering fruit. This is a wonderful, mature Vintage Port. 94/100. Served blind, this was guessed to be Warre 1966. Drunk 14-Aug-2024.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
