Of course I’d love to play. But I have not suitable 1994 bottles, and so acknowledge the possibility that I might therefore be deselected.
But I have interesting ’70s, so am clinging on.

Yes please could I join this (MJRM). I have Dow 1994 (which you already have), Warre 1994 (1996) and Warre 1970. First two have very strong provenance. Would have to check third.

Yes, please. A fascinating theme. I have 1970 and 1994 Dow as well as 1994 Graham. None of it was released in 2021 nor did it repose in (or presumably under) Blenheim Palace.

You're first reserve. Suspect I won't be using my "guest" spot, so you'll probably get a place at the table.

Apologies to those who were looking forward to tasting the 1994s, but I've decided that keeping this as a comparison of just the 1970s makes more sense.
I'll update the first post to reflect this.
If you were down as an attendee but no longer wish to attend the "new" tasting let me know.

Hello - fear I’m not quite as eligible as others may be in terms of possible contributions, so happy to be moved to reserves!

OK - can you let me know what non Blenheim Palace bottles of 1970 Warre, Dow, Cockburn and Sandeman you have?
If need be I can do a couple of different Warre and a Cockburn and Dow.
Ideally need to know bottler and have some idea about provenance.
IDJ Sandeman is on the list.
Also, I'm waiting on attendance responses from a couple of guests, but if they're not available there could still be two places left for this & currently no reserves.

BTW, if you're attending (or would like to) and don't have a suitable bottle then not a problem. Total bottle costs are going to be shared across all attendees.

Draft of
the placemats added to
the first post. I suspect much work to do.
Edit: rather late, I have sent Neil a list of bottles available. Those of you even tardier than me should soon do likewise.

OK - this has crept up, but now engaged.
Will sort out line up in the next couple of days. If you haven't told me about bottles do so now.
Also, need food order by tomorrow morning please, or will go with the default.

My guess, or at least hope, is that my covid will be gone within eight days. So I’m still in. But there must some chance that I’ll fail. If you need a prompt guaranteed decision, the right thing must be for me to lie aside. But if you don’t, then not.

• Soup of the day;
• Burger;
• Welsh rarebit.

Happy with default food. Bottles as advised previously; expecting to be bringing W70 Wine Society bottling unless you advise otherwise.

Bottle line-up almost complete. Just need another Dow 70. Does anybody have one with reasonable provenance (but not a Blenheim Palace bottle)?

The menu has changed again...
In particular the crab starter no longer available.
So, missing starters for Charles, Martin (and dessert), Ian, Mike M, and Alex H.
Please update ASAP.

Do you want me to bring a Blenheim bottle to reduce the load on you?
