The second of two near identical bin-end bottles supplied free of charge by a kindly wine merchant. Apparently previous non-bin-end bottles were quite nice.

Opened and double-decanted at 0800 on the morning of the Aged LBVs tasting.

Had leaked in transit, so was upper-shoulder. Clear glass bottle which showed the lack of colour and loads of sediment.

Proper driven cork which, whilst pretty much saturated, came out in one piece.

QA sample indicated that it was still port but only just.

Will be included in the tasting for information purposes only.

Rs90 LBV. Oh dear. Or, in the delightful modern parlance as used by my youngest, oh my days!

Orange, 10% opaque. Nose of light varnish. If it is not framed as a red port, but instead as a sauternes-sherry mix, it could be drunk with pleasure. It was possible to pretend that it was a very very light white Port.

A deep gold. Colour dropped out. Rather odd nose. Smells of turps with a little bit of bleach in the background. No fruit character. On palate, orange. Rather less unpleasant than nose would suggest.
