2014 Quinta da Corte Colheita (bottled 2022)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled in 2022. An attractive red colour, looking similar in tone to a 10 year tawny, 80% opaque. Rhubarb and cranberry on the nose, sweet and showing nicely. Rhubarb on the palate, a little sharp and acidic. Gentle tannins play across the teeth while the acidity builds up. The fruit does not show up on the palate but the lovely baked rhubarb returns on the aftertaste and delivers a good length finish. Pleasant, and unusual to be able to drink a Colheita this young. 86/100. 20-Apr-23.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
