That makes fourteen (please check whether correctly done — if fifteen, the fourteenth will be waitlisted).

You’ve missed Phil, Simon and Harry (who wasn’t sure so said make first on waitlist if full).

I suspect we were not included because all three of us qualified our availability ("yes, probably" or similar) rather than just saying yes (not entirely unreasonable, though somewhat ironic in my case since the issue I was referring to was the same as your "could it be a week earlier" issue :) and would apply to some other attendees too!).

I think that there might have been a snafu, and some acceptances were listed out of order. I will re-do my admin.

Next year is a Significant Birthday (tm) year for me, and so my wife and I are planning several events and trips. One of those is currently looking like a trip to London for this tasting, followed by popping over to Porto for a tour. This is still a year out so we haven't started looking into flights yet, but will do so fairly soon to get things locked in.

I have Grahams 63,75,16,17 and Stone Terraces 2017 - remains to be seen if I still have them all in a years time but it's a risk I'm happy to take
Can I get on the reserve list please

Thought I had requested a place but seem to have been bumped, possibly as I did say ‘hoped’. Anyway, please add me to any further reserve requests, many thanks.

As it turns out, my brother has been independently planning a trip to Scotland to see our ancestral lands, and his trip is likely to be the week of May 26 - June 2. He just mentioned it to me today.

So my planned trip is now likely being extended. Roughly, I'll plan to be in London the week of May 12-18 to attend this tasting on Tuesday, May 14, then in Portugal the week of May 19-25, then back through London to Scotland for at least part of the week of May 26-June 2.

Translation: I'm re-confirming that I'll be there for this tasting!

If Will W. (or anyone else) is around at that time, maybe some small tasting can be arranged. What are your plans when in Portugal?

Still being determined. I am probably going to use Roy to set up the bulk of the trip as a private tour, but that still leaves me in control of much of the itinerary. So if planned far enough in advance, we could make one "stop" on the trip a lunch or dinner with whoever were available!

That, or possibly even easier would be to have lunch or dinner in Porto after the formal tour is over but before we return to London on our way to Scotland. That way we wouldn't have to worry about potentially shifting appointments with other stops on the trip.

Will investigate possibility of doing the Taylor SH tasting that week as well. TBC.

One week earlier - absolutely no. One week later, that would work for me.
How things change. Now, one week earlier (ie. The week of the bank holiday) would guarantee I could be there.

The planned week or the week after is less certain.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

I cannot change weeks seeing as I'm planning a 2-week vacation around this tasting. I plan to arrive in London on Saturday or Sunday the 11th or 12th, then head to Portugal on Thursday or Friday the 16h or 17th for a tour from Sunday to Sunday (19-26).

Given how rarely Glenn is able to attend a tasting in London, we should make every effort possible to keep to the planned 14th May date.

I was about to email Glenn about perhaps getting together at some point next month, until Alex specifically mentioned the month of May.

Yes, I know it's in the title, but what can I say....

The week after this tasting I will be in Portugal for a private "harvest tour" so we might still be able to work something out! Itinerary is still being worked out, but we'll be up in the Douro for most of that week (May 19-26).
