2000 Dow

Mature red in tone, 90% opaque. Vigorous nose, full of warm and spiced fruit compote and red apple. Exquisite and elegant fruit on the palate; dry edges to the fruit from the tannins but the fruit swamps everything. The fruit is bright and quite lovely, without any of the slightly cloying hints on the Graham. Lovely, such delightful balance. 95/100. Tasted 21-Feb-23. Decanted 4 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
