NV Sandeman Tawny 40YO (bottled 2022)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled October 2022. Warm fruit cocktail nose, hint of burnt rhubarb. Very much in the feminine style of Sandeman tawnies. Hints of tannin, wonderful bright acidity and mouth-filling citrus fruit and oils. Rich and enveloping, with a long lime and grapefruit oil finish. Lovely wine. 92/100. Tasted 17-Jan-23. Open 1 hour.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.

2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!
