1963 Cockburn

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A rich and deep burnished red, 50% opaque. A lovely nose of mature fruit — fruit gums and a burst of sparkling sherbet! Sweet, poised and full of jellied red fruit before fabulous development on the mid-palate brings rich and spiced dried fruit. These burst into life on the aftertaste and finish, a finish which is superb if slightly sticky. A delicious Port and joint wine of the night for me. 95/100. Tasted 25-Jul-22. Decanted 6½ hours.
