Made from the younger vines of the estate. A blend consisting of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc. Opened as a reward to myself after a hard couple of days tasting young, tannic rioja and other Tempranillo wines.

Mature red, having left a decent amount of sediment in the bottle when decanted. Subdued cedar and juniper berry nose with some nice complexity. Lovely smooth texture, bringing warm ripe fruit with the perfect level of acidity to keep the fruit balanced. Soft tannins flirt with the tongue and while you concentrate on them you suddenly realise how the fruit is full of flower perfume. The complexity of the palate is delightful, self-assured without being arrogant. A little dryness to the aftertaste and finish, but a great length of rosehips and cranberries, clean and fresh. The only reason this wine doesn't get a higher mark is the palate is medium in weight, but is so perfectly balanced. 93/100. Drunk 29-Apr-22. Decanted 1 hour.
