Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Dow 1963, bottled by the Wine Society: deep red, 80% opaque. Lively sweet fruit on the nose, beautifully spiced. Peppercorn heat on the entry, rich fruit, dry and livened up with cinnamon and mace. Pepper and paprika heat on the aftertaste. Red cinnamon lozenge on the palate, lively heat with sweet red fruit. Slightly dry on the finish. 86/100. 28-Sep-21. Decanted 5½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
