Opened and decanted 24/12/21. Great clots of sediment but not to Niepoort levels.

Tasted that evening it had the characteristic Taylor violets on the nose but without the biting fire that sometimes mars the full vintage releases; still a bit warm on the palate, though, with an inadequate 3 hour decant.

At its best at lunch on 25/12/21 when it was a full-throated port in its stride, a rich melange of red fruits with some nice chocolate structure.

A final glass after lunch on 26/12/21 was more generically prunes-and-chocolate, although still very nice drinking.

An admirable bottle of this deservedly well-rated port. Drink now and over the next 10-15 years? Might still be interesting at 50, but I suspect it will be a short-decant wine by then.
