As dark as any wine here tonight.

Licorice and treacle on the palate.

I enjoyed this and gave it an HM.

65% opacity, deep dark red. Lively red fruit on the nose. Rich and full mouthfeel, chocolate, redcurrant, lip-licking sweetness.

Don't have much here except "fruit pastille blackcurrant". I like fruit pastilles.

Decanted at 15.30, drunk at 20.30. Mid red colour, mature appearance with a wide rim. Subdued on the nose but showing some primary dark cherry fruit. The cherry fruit dominates the entry, young and with dry charcoal tannins around the edges of the fruit. Lovely black wine gum finish of good length. A nice Port, balanced with limited complexity, possibly still a little closed. 87/100. 16-Nov-21.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
