2000 Dow

Shown at the Symington's 1994 Library Release launch event.

Dark red with a narrow rim. Fragrant blackcurrant nose, powerful and slightly sour. Satin texture with a big blackcurrant palate. Pure and refined fruit with dark chocolate tannins. The wine has a wonderful harmony on the palate but is still young with a distinct tannic grip. Sweet blackcurrant aftertaste with a long and slightly sticky blackcurrant finish. This Port is delicious, young and harmonious. It's easy to drink today but has decades of splendid life ahead of it. 92/100. Tasted 02-Nov-221. Decanted 4½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
