1977 Warre

Popped and poured. Damp under foil and cork fell into bottle on being touched by the corkscrew. Didn't affect the wine though.

Rose red colour; 40% opaque. Spiced poached red fruit on the nose. Smooth palate, full of cherries with some cranberry late. Beautiful length and balance, not too sweet. Fully ready and in a great place now.

One of my fellow diners, a very experienced port hand, smiled and said, simply, 'Complete'.

Consumed 2/10/21 (in about twenty minutes, between five persons).
