T45. Dark red, 50% opaque. Nose dry, all structure, with a touch of heat. Palate had pip bitterness, soft dark plum which was huge and filling, and was lovely and interesting. Slightly odd, huge and long, complex and wonderful.

My second place, behind the Mz45, but overwhelmingly the WOTN winner.

Yellow rim, red-orange centre. Nose magnificently powerful and weighty. On the palate, it's again full of vigour and power and structure, but smooth with it. Three minute finish - I counted, silently. Later, licquorice allsorts.

Bags of life on this showing. All about the structure but simply astonishing wine.

My, and the overwhelmingly the group's, WOTN - it scored as much as the next three put together.

Taylor 1945, decanted at 16.00 and tasted at 20.30. Rich nose, full of mature fruit. Wonderful palate, rich and sweet fruit, perfect balance. Astonishing aftertaste and a finish which goes through multiple phases. A fabulous bottle of a stunning Port. 97/100. Sourced from a Scottish cellar.
