I have some Vesuvio 2005 to finish off, thick and purple and full of fruit - surprisingly easy to drink at the moment.
Once that's gone, I'm not too sure. Maybe another Royal Oporto '63 as it's starting to seep.

I'm not slugging too much tonight or tomorrow but Friday I may open something.
Well done to ac-fast for getting off Cruz Ruby so quickly.

I'm having a Grahams 70 and another yet to be decided, on Friday evening at a Dinner Party in Yorkshire. Looking forward to it. Derek gave me it last year as a thank you for housing him at a Do! I'm hoping its a gem, as it's one of those teaching folk about Port occasions.

Alan,
If it's the bottle I gave you it's a Graham's 75, not a 70.
I enjoy it and I hope you do too but I don't think I would describe it as a gem. The stash that it came from did not have the best of attention during their years of ageing and they are probably a bit more advanced than other batches of this particular VP. The notes I have on this suggest that 24 hours decanting is a good thing so if you are still up pop it now! Both times I have had it there has been lots of heat in the early stages and this has faded away by 24 hours leaving a very Graham's plummy juice experience.

Back on topic, I am currently sipping a Fonseca 85
Easter weekend will probably cause the demise of something nice. There are a couple of F66's that keep winking at me every time I open my wine cooler
Derek
Leave them F66s alone. We’ll have them

Derek,
are you suggesting more than 24hrs, or did you lose a day? If its just 24, I'll decant this evening for tomorrow. Thanks for the advice, anyway.

Alan,
24 hours is what I meant. I am being confused because of the Easter holidays.

My easter ports are the sogevinus VPs from 05. The Calem VP now comes in 0,5l bottles.
ac-fast, how did you like the Portal 05?
As we say in Germany: Dicke Eier!

I just decanted the Niepoort 2000 LBV.
Once that's gone, it's the Andresen 2000 LBV.

My Lenten abstinence has involved avoiding port, so this Sunday should be marked by something special. But what???? Oh, the agony!
I think it would be greedy to down an old bottle, of which I have very few, in one night all by myself as the only port drinker in the household. So, something mature which can last a couple of nights.
The Croft 77 probably fits the bill. I find it a luscious and not cloyingly sweet port. Roll on Sunday!
Oh. Is that a rule? Are others bound by it?

That might be bad:
