Tasting notes:

Note: on the evening, we opened what was expected to be a 1935 Cockburn and discovered it to be a 1950 Cockburn, hence two entries for 1950 Cockburn in the tasting notes.

For those posting a tasting note, this thread is for the 1950 Cockburn which was on the 1935 slot on the placemat.

Originally believed to be Cockburn 1935, but identified from the cork as the 1950 vintage.

Deep brick red colour, 60% opaque. Lacking anything on the nose but on the palate the texture is smooth and sweet but lacking in fruit and oddly hollow. The late palate shows more interest with red fruit and a bit of gentle spice. The aftertaste is lively and shows the spice from the late palate, turning to soft milk chocolate and dried red cherry on the finish that is surprisingly fragrant. 87/100.
