Tasting notes:
Note: on the evening, we opened what was expected to be a 1935 Cockburn and discovered it to be a 1950 Cockburn, hence two entries for 1950 Cockburn in the tasting notes.
1912 Cockburn
Re: 1912 Cockburn
25% opacity, brown amber, clear. Dried red fruits, strawberry, mild menthol. Smooth entry, full mouthfeel, quick to gentle acidity. Extracted red fruits, some dryness in the finish. In very good shape at 106 years old!

Re: 1912 Cockburn
Bottled by Mitcheltomb & Co. A modest polished rosewood colour, 40% opaque. Lovely on the nose, full of rose hips and caramelised orange. Thick texture on the palate, relaxed and languid. The flavours build up slowly; concentrated orange and wood smoke combine with other subtle flavours to give a big mouthful - big, rich, flavoursome and slightly peppery. The flavours flow smoothly through several flavours to deliver an aftertaste which is just as big. The finish is astonishing - long, sticky and full of concentrated orange and marmalade. Fabulous, amazing port. 98/100.
